Christmas Rush Shopping

Christmas rush is just around the corner and if you’re like most people, you have yet to finish your Christmas shopping list. Have to find that perfect pair of cuff links for daddy, that stainless steel watch for big brother that he so likes, those pair of pretty pink headsets for the emo little sister and of course that lovely ceramic knife set that your mother is always raving about. Oh…how I wish gift shopping could always be this easy. :p

Orange Scarf by GAP

Its been a long time that I set foot on an Ukay-Ukay store not until last Sunday bago ako mamalengke napadaan ako sa isang sikat na ukayan. With nothing in mind on what to buy, basta na lang ako nag-ikot dun. I remember my mom said something na mejo giniginaw daw sya this Christmas season. That’s the time na naisipan ko syang hanapan ng sweater sa kids section nitong ukayan since my mom is just a small lady.

It took me around 10 minutes before I finally found a nice blue sweater that would perfectly fit my mom.

Then suddenly a small bright orange clothing from the bundle attract my attention. I grab it to check what kind of cloth it was. I found out its made of fleece, its a scarf, and it’s made by GAP, cool!

And what’s more cooler is that it’s kinda unique because it has a zippered pocket on one end. Great to store ID’s and small bills. I’m actually scouting for a scarf to partner with my leather jacket and here it is.

The best part is that I bought the blue sweater and this GAP scarf for only P30. Then found the same scarf at ebay at the cost of $23 inluding shipping. Winner yeah!!!

Revamping Ukay2 Clothes

I see it everytime I walk into an Ukay-ukay store.

There is a girl or a guy, searching vainly for clothes that would fit them. They would see one, try it on, and all of the sudden they changed their minds, because the clothes were a little too big, making them look like they lost weight from some natural appetite suppressant available in the market.

A girl named Marisa Lynch didn’t deter her from making fabulous clothes out of ugly ones. She’s the author of “New Dress A Day“, which shows people how she was able to change 365 dresses for 365 days, with just $365 (yep, that’s a dollar per day). The site has been around for a while, since 2009 actually, and she’s still making fabulous clothes out of stuff are a normally unfashionable.

Makes me kind of wish a guy could do the same. XD

Anyway, so for all Ukay-ukay shoppers in the Philippines, don’t be afraid to check out her site to pick up tips on how to change your ukay clothes into something fashionable. You’ll never know… that ukay dress that you bought for P50 could be the next fashion statement.

It has become so dull. The only Designers that are actually ‘fashion’are Rodarte, Alexander Mcqueen and viktor and rolf.
What are your opinions?
It also seems that every one wants to be in the fashion industry because of those asinine fashion shows on Bravo, MTV and Lifetime.

I’m 13 and I love fashion and beauty, but I just don’t know how to be a fashionista/ fashion and beauty girl! I’m doing this for myself, by the way! What magazines do I read, make -up, any recommended stores, clothing lines, clothes, shoes, accessories, purses (I already have a small Coach Purse), what do fashionistas obsess over (except for fashion and beauty duh!), how do they act, any recommended books (fiction or nonfiction), what do they say a lot, what celebrities are their role models, how do I get great fashionista-baby soft skin, any bedroom (bathroom) make-overs, and any other suggestions are cool! I don’t want to be self-centered or mean, I am really nice actually.

Sorry, that’s a lot of stuff, but I just love fashion, just don’t know how to put it!

Advice would be awesome!

i currently work in topshop, have good fashion sense and i simply adddoooore fashion. i really want to do something involving it when i get older.

I love clothes and fashion, even though I’m not artistic or the designer type. I just wanna be around the fashion industry. I’m planning on majoring in business, or marketing in college, so what jobs in fashion could I get with either of those? I love fashion more than anything and I want to be around it

I recently moved to US and wants to know what the best fashion magazine is for a young adult like me. I am 23, so really cannot relate to cosmogirl or seventeen anymore. I love to dress up and follow fashion trends. I want to subscribe to a magazine where I can find the hottest hairstyle, or latest fashion on clothes, shoes or bags. I am looking for a more mature version of seventeen/cosmogirl.
