Used clothing is having its remarkable presence globally. Thrift shop, swap meet, flea market, barter trade. These places abroad are the equivalent to our ukay-ukay’s here in the Philipiines. UK, Japan, US, Hongkong, Australia and even in the Middle East, they all have them. An example is the image on the left (its taken from Amman, Jordan)
Baka nga pag lumakas demand ng mga tao dun sa used kloting eh wala ng dumating sa atin balang araw hehe. Kase all of those nice brands eh baka harangin na nila duon. Tapos eh mga napagpilian na lang ang dumating sa atin. Kaya hindi na ukay-ukay ang tawag sa mga shops dito, tira-tira na kase puro tira na lang hahaha!
Did you know that even the famous auction site Ebay has allowed used clothing to be placed on their website. With some policy of course. The seller must comply to this conditions first.
Used clothing (except underwear) may be listed on eBay as long as the clothing has been thoroughly cleaned according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Listings that contain inappropriate descriptions will be ended.
Examples:
Joe lists his old sweater for sale on eBay. A buyer won the item and Joe sent the sweater to the winning buyer. Unfortunately, Joe did not have the sweater dry-cleaned before he sent it to the winning buyer. In this case, Joe has violated eBay policy.
Henry listed a pair of his used underwear on eBay. Since this is not permitted, Henry has violated eBay policy.
