You will be amazed to find cheap silver items like rings, bracelet, necklace and pendants all over tiangge’s and bazaar that are sold super cheap. As low as P10 each, imagine that! Although I still haven’t seen any one selling silver bars on the streets, you would be surprise to see those glittering silvers in intricate and expensive designs for the price you just can’t resist.
The most conspicuous thing that the vendor brought with him is the square tray with a black cloth on it, followed by a plastic cover, then filled with a small amount of water just enough for the silver items to be submerged, with around half dozen kalamansi cut in halves that are scattered together with the silvers. The calamansi is there to symbolize a person’s sweat, to prove to the customers that the silvers they were selling won’ t be affected or tarnish by any acid.
